OUR RESEARCH PARTNERS

By partnering with leading cancer centers, cureMEC is ensuring that myoepithelial carcinoma is studied with the most advanced technologies in genomics, drug discovery, and precision medicine.

cureMEC is dedicated to ensuring that myoepithelial carcinoma (MEC) is represented in world-class research. Because MEC is ultra-rare, progress depends on building strategic partnerships with leading cancer centers, scientists, and consortia who have the expertise and resources to accelerate discovery.

By sharing our patient-derived models—including the first MEC cell lines and xenograft—we are integrating MEC into cutting-edge platforms in genomics, drug screening, and cancer biology. These collaborations allow MEC to benefit from the most advanced tools in cancer research, while ensuring that the resulting data and insights are shared broadly with the scientific community.

Together with our research partners, we are building the foundation for targeted therapies, innovative diagnostics, and new hope for MEC patients and families worldwide.

  • Washington University in St. Louis

We partnered with Dr. Brian Van Tine to launch a groundbreaking study of the MEC “surfaceome,” the proteins found on the outside of cancer cells. His team has developed the world’s first MEC cell lines, creating powerful tools to identify new therapeutic targets. LEARN MORE

  • Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center

At Fred Hutch, Dr. Taran Gujral is applying his systems pharmacology-based drug screening platform to MEC. Using our cell lines and xenograft, his lab is testing hundreds of compounds and mapping the signaling networks that drive MEC—uncovering drug vulnerabilities that traditional screening methods might miss. • Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)

CHOP scientists are using advanced long-read RNA sequencing to deeply characterize MEC’s transcriptome. By applying their new ESPRESSO computational tool to our MEC cell lines, they are uncovering transcript-level details that could point to new therapeutic targets. LEARN MORE
